Ready to collaborate: Delays in construction of Shelburne clinic results in office move as new doctor arrives

Building delays have pushed back the opening of a new clinic in Shelburne, but that's not keeping physicians from putting the collaborative care model into practice now.

Jody Ybarra, site manager for the Roseway Hospital, said the collaborative learning portion of the plans for the new clinic will begin soon.
One of the new physicians, who was recruited with the hope of beginning her career in the collaborative care setting, is expected to arrive this spring and will start working with this model.
“A lot of graduating students like the idea of a collaborative practice,” said Ybarra.
The arrival of Dr. Leanne Delong has meant shuffling some of the existing medical offices in Enterprise Square.
Dr. John Keeler and Dr. Trudy Mcfarlane, as well nurse Ruth Waters, will be moving to the second floor of Roseway Hospital as of April 27 to make room for Delong. The office phone number will remain the same for patients trying to reach the office.
“We were quite limited in space,” Ybarra said about the office space available at Roseway Hospital. “But we were quite resourceful.”
There has been shuffling of plans to make room for the physicians practicing in Shelburne while they wait for a new clinic to be built.
The long-awaited clinic is ready to go to tender, with a groundbreaking expected this spring. It is set to open in the spring of 2018.
