RCMP say woman sent to hospital with minor injuries after being struck in Shelburne crosswalk

SHELBURNE, N.S. – A woman was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross at a crosswalk on the corner of King Street and Water Street in Shelburne.

The fire department and EHS were on the scene. The accident happened on Sept. 22 shortly after 11 a.m.

The woman was taken to Yarmouth hospital with minor injuries, according to the RCMP.

The Roseway Hospital emergency department had a scheduled closure that day from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. due to physician unavailability.

Sgt. Mike O'Callaghan with the Shelburne RCMP was also on scene and said charges were pending for failure to yield for a pedestrian.
