The 14th annual International Iron Man Dory Race will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 starting at 6:30 a.m. from the eastern side of the Cape Sable Island Causeway.

As of press time five teams were entered in the grueling 24.67 mile race that circumnavigates Cape Sable Island including international dory rowing champs Nicole Nickerson and Gail Atkinson. Also competing are: Holden Nickerson and Frank Hubbard; Paula Nickerson and Bethany Nickerson; Stevie Goreham and Joy Crowell; and Angus Atkinson and Brett Nickerson.

Anyone wanting to take up the challenge and enter a team can contact either Rob or Nicole at 745-1428. Other water crafts such as sailboats or kayaks are also welcome to join in at their own risk.

The International Iron Man Dory Race is hosted by the Queen of Hearts Dory Club.
