The Barrington Sea Star Ice Dogs and the RCMP Bisons laced up for a benefit hockey game on Nov. 25 at the Barrington Arena that will support needy families this Christmas.
RCMP officers from as far away as Halifax and New Minas helped fill the Bison’s roster, which also included RCMP officers from Barrington, Shelburne and Yarmouth detachments.
Organized by the Barrington RCMP Detachment in support of the Adopt a Family program, more than $1,500 was raised at the game through donations at the door and from the players, as well as from a number of fundraisers held during the game.
As for the score, the Bisons held their own against the Ice Dogs with the contest ending up in a tie.
The detachment is continuing to accept donations so the grand total is expected to grow.
The Barrington RCMP would like to thank everyone who participated in this event with a special thanks to the Barrington Ice Dogs for their time and support.
The Adopt-a-Family Program is administered by the Salvation Army.
