Access to the Shelburne Marine Terminal is being restricted.

Although the town wharf has been a popular destination for a drive for many in the community, public access will be restricted in the future to minimize wear and tear on the facilities.

In a release from the Town of Shelburne, it was noted that facilities at the Shelburne Marine Terminal are old and in need of repair. The Town has initiated a project to upgrade the facilities and is preparing a tender for an engineering proposal.

In the release, Shelburne Mayor Al Delaney noted that the marine terminal was of vital importance to the community and could expect even greater use with recent announcements about offshore exploration, expanded fish products and fishing activity as well as cruise line and mega yacht visits.

The Shelburne Port Authority apologized for any inconvenience to the public.
