‘Share the Angst’ is like the CBC hit show ‘Adults Read Things They Wrote As Kids’ happening at the Osprey Arts Centre in Shelburne on March 19.
SHELBURNE – The Osprey Arts Centre in Shelburne presents a night much like the popular CBC program, “Adults Read Things They Wrote as Kids” on Saturday, March 19 at 8 p.m.
The event is being called “Share the Angst.”
The event is being produced by Julie Ferguson as a fundraiser for Our House Youth Wellness Centre in Shelburne.
It will be a night of part comedy, part heart-felt memories, punctuated by live music from The Shelburne Pit Band.
Participants will share stories, love letters, journals and more on stage with the audience. Writings will be from the childhood years right up to late teen years, so there will be lots of variety.
The other inspiration for this event is the American equivalent of the CBC show. It’s called “Mortified Nation” for the bravery of those who read their personal childhood memories.
People are encouraged to leaf through their shoeboxes full of keepsakes and diaries full of memories to see if there are some nuggets of childhood gold that others would enjoy hearing.
You can contact Julie Ferguson at email@example.com if you would like to read during the event.
Tickets for ‘Share the Angst’ are $12 for adults and $7 for students.
Tickets can be purchased on the Osprey and TicketPro websites and at TLC Pharmacy in Shelburne or at other TicketPro outlets. Osprey Box Office hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 10 am to 4:30 pm when tickets can also be purchased in person.
