'The Foundation' Line Replaces Producer, Brings Out Skydance EP To Set Ahead Of Season 3 Production Resumption

Foundation, Skydance TV's Apple TV+ series is undergoing major changes ahead of resuming production on its upcoming third season following a delay due to budget/physical production issues. Filming will begin on March 6 in the Czech Republic's capital Prague and four Polish cities, the capital Warsaw and Krakow, Lublin and Katowice, Deadline reports.

Larry Bourque, who served as line producer/co-executive producer on Season 2 and the already completed portion of Season 3, is leaving. Doug Moreno, credited as production controller in Season 3, steps into the role of line producer.

Additionally, Foundation Executive producer Bill Post will travel to Prague for principal photography. Post oversaw the launch Foundation Head of Skydance Television and prior to that SVP of Series Development Television. After stepping down from his TV head position in November 2022, he remained an executive producer on the show after entering into a production deal with the indie studio.

According to a Deadline report, Foundation Associate Developer/Executive Producer/Showrunner David S. Goyer will continue to write and executive produce the series from Los Angeles. He is believed to have provided directing services during earlier Season 3 production, but will not be helming any more Season 3 episodes as previously planned. His replacement(s) are still being finalised.

Foundation Filmed for several weeks in the spring of 2023 before being halted due to a strike. Sources said that half of the third season is in the can.

As Deadline previously reported, the resumption of production on Season 3, which had been scheduled for February, was postponed earlier this month, with budget and physical production issues prompting the delay. The cast and crew, who had already assembled for the shoot, were told to return home when the issues were resolved.
