Blood collection services at Barrington Health Centre temporarily unavailable

BARRINGTON PASSAGE, N.S. – Blood collection services at the Barrington Health Centre in Barrington Passage are temporarily unavailable, the Nova Scotia Health Authority said in a public advisory sent out late Friday afternoon.

The health authority says this is because work is needed to resolve some water damage at health centre, although it did not elaborate in the advisory it sent out.

“People who require blood collection may use the services at Roseway Hospital in Shelburne or at Yarmouth Regional Hospital,” the health authority said.

Roseway Hospital blood collection hours are Monday to Friday, 8 to 11 a.m.

Yarmouth Hospital blood collection hours: Monday to Friday: 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Both locations on closed on holidays.

More information about when services will return to normal at Barrington Health Centre will be shared as soon as it is available, the health authority said.

The emergency department at Shelburne Roseway Hospital will be closed Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. and will reopen Sunday, Oct. 1, at 8 p.m.

This is due to physician unavailability, says the health authority.
