The 2024 Grammy Awards take place today (Sunday, February 5), with female artists set to dominate major categories, including the top prize of the night and album of the year.

Most of the nominees for album of the year, song of the year and record of the year were female, with Taylor Swift competing against fellow stars such as Billie Eilish, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, Lana Del Rey, Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa.

Several artists will perform live during the ceremony, including legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, 80, who plans to perform live from the Grammys stage for the first time in her career.

Billy Joel, Travis Scott, Luke Combs, Tracy Chapman and Barna Boy will also perform along with nominees Eilish, Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, and a special appearance from U2 at the Las Vegas Sphere, where they have been in residence for several months. .

SZA goes into the night with nine nominations, and is one of many artists who could break records in the music industry this weekend. If she manages to win at least seven of them, she becomes the highest-grossing female artist overnight. Adele and Beyoncé currently hold that record with six wins at a single ceremony.
