Atom Shelburne Flames play both divisions in Fall Classic

While the Shelburne County Atom A and B Flames didn’t make it to the championship games in their respective divisions during the annual Fall Classic minor hockey tournament, they had fun trying.

The annual tournament, hosted by the Shelburne County Minor Hockey Association, attracted 11 teams for the Nov. 9 and 10 event.

In Atom A action, the Shelburne Flames went 2-2. In game one they were edged by Eastern Shore 6-5. Game MVP was Keenan Buchanan. The Flames also suffered a 9-2 loss to Chester. Ethan Brannen picked up the MVP award for Shelburne.

The Flames came back with a 4-0 shutout over Clare. Game MVP was Lex Swaine. Shelburne finished the tournament with s 9-2 win over Clare for a fifth place finish.   Xiander Shand was game MVP.

In Atom B play, the Shelburne Flames went 0-4. Game MVPs for the tournament were Mya Nickerson, Keigan Sears, Christian Chetwynd and Ben Atkinson.

The Fall Classic continues on the Nov. 15 and 16 weekend, with competition at the Peewee level.
