Shelburne hosting Nova Scotia senior curling championships


SHELBURNE -The Shelburne Curling Centre will be hosting the Nova Scotia Seniors Men’s and Ladies Championship from Feb. 20 to Feb. 24.

In December, the Shelburne club hosted playdowns for the NS women's championships. This weekend will see the Mens' and Womens' senior championships held there.

Eight men’s teams will be competing, including last year’s Nova Scotia and Canadian champion Team O’Leary skipped by Alan O’Leary.  There is also a team from the Shelburne Curling Centre competing, Skip Greg Hicks, third Steve Walsh, second Kenny Gregory and lead Clark Acker.

Three ladies teams will be competing including last year’s Nova Scotia Team Pinkney skipped by Colleen Pinkney.

Competition begins Friday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. and continues to Tuesday, Feb. 24.
