There were lots of laughs at the first annual Bay Side Home Van Auxiliary Softball Tournament on Sept. 14 at the Fishermen’s Memorial Ball Field on Sherose Island.

The tournament, which was part of Continuing Care Month (September) celebrations, was also a fundraiser to purchase a new van for the long term care facility.

Teams from the Villa and the Meadows also competed in the three team tourney. The Meadows won the banner undefeated.

A barbecue, bake sale and cookbook sale were also part of the festivities, with more than $800 raised for the van fund.
