DIGBY – Runners came to the Digby Scallop Days Fun Run from as far away as Chicago, Houston, Charlottesville, and even England and Germany.

Officially 150 people finished the two races – 46 in the 10k and 104 in the 5k on Aug. 6.

Matthew Ho of Halifax won the Digby Scallop Days 10k for a second year in a row. His 2016 time of 34:02 was almost a minute slower than his winning time of 33:09 in 2015.

The first female in the 10k was Joanne MacDonald-Burns of Yarmouth in a time of 47:51.

Vickie LeBlanc of Meteghan Station won the age class for women aged 50 to 59 in a time of 1:02:19.

Brent Dickie of Yarmouth and Ian McDormand of Weymouth were 9th and 10th overall.

Alice Belliveau of Meteghan River was 27th overall, second in her age class and the sixth female overall.

Michael Carty of Digby was 32nd overall and seventh in his age class.

Meaghan Forster Raymond of Smith’s Cove also completed the 10k.

Pat Menzies of Whitby Ontario won the 5k in 18:51 after finishing second in 17:45 last year.

Chloe Austin of Dartmouth finished second overall and was top female in 19:32.

Max Shepherd of Chicago and Trout Cove Road was third overall and second male in 19:57.

Adam Peck of Digby was fourth overall in 20:14, he was the top Digby finisher and first in the under 19 age group.

Summer Shepherd of Charlottesville Virginia and Trout Cove Road was fifth overall and second female.

Kaiden Longmire was the first youth 12 and under in 23:58.

Holly Hassellbring was first female 12 and under in 32:04.

Paige Ettinger was the first female under 19 in 24:43.

Pearl Janson of Digby won the female 60 to 69 age group.
