YARMOUTH - A Women’s March on Washington event will take place in Yarmouth on Friday, Jan. 27.

The march will start with a rally, led by Elizabeth Wright, in front of Yarmouth town hall.

More contributors are welcome to speak by contacting Natural Law Studios through its Facebook Page.

At 4 p.m. the march will proceed north on Main Street and up Starrs Road to the east side of the Yarmouth mall parking lot. Ashley Nickerson from Parents’ Place will close off the rally.

Organizer Caitlin Buchanan, owner of Natural Law Studios, a business specializing in yoga workshops, says the goal is to raise awareness on the “real and present danger to human rights around the globe today.”

“The oppression of women has been the standard in our society since Babylon,” she said.

“The time has more than come to put away these archaic and ignorant ideologies. Our voices will be heard across the globe, no matter how small the corner may be.”

Participants are asked to bring signage, take photos and to bring their families with them.
