Shelburne County teachers add their voices to province-wide walkout
SHELBURNE COUNTY, N.S. – For the first time in its 122-year history, the NSTU held a teachers' strike on Friday, Feb. 17.
A fishing vessel in Sandy Point ran aground shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3. There are a few crew members aboard.
The captain of the vessel, AU Cobra made a call to the Coast Guard but decided they did not need assistance. There are no reports of danger to the crew or vessel. The captain is waiting for assistance from local fishermen to assist in landing the vessel at high tide.
