Shelburne County teachers add their voices to province-wide walkout
SHELBURNE COUNTY, N.S. – For the first time in its 122-year history, the NSTU held a teachers' strike on Friday, Feb. 17.
Days before an expected storm, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the weekend.
A low pressure system will bring snow to Nova Scotia and Cape Breton on Sunday. How much is too early to say but the statement says there is potential for “significant” snow, strong winds and blowing snow for much of mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton.
Environment Canada says it will continue to monitor the development of the
storm and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
Those planning travel or other weather-sensitive activities for
Sunday are being advised to keep an eye on future forecasts for more information
and any warnings that may be issued.
