Hants County woman falls through ice in attempt to rescue dogs
NEWPORT, N.S. - A Hants County woman and her two dogs are lucky to be alive after they fell through the ice on a river at a local park.
UPDATE:The RCMP issued the following news release at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10:
The RCMP regret to inform the public that this afternoon at approximately 3:47 p.m., police located the body of Chelsea Justice Anne Hopkins in a wooded area near her home.
Foul play is not suspected.
The RCMP said it would like to thank the public for their assistance.
Chelsea Justice Anne Hopkins had been reported missing to RCMP yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. She left her home on Oak Park Road, Shelburne County on the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 8 and had not been seen or heard from since that time.
