North Sydney family rigged up parachute to power snowboard
NORTH SYDNEY, N.S. — You could say the idea was blowing in the wind.
An evening of Christmas music will be followed by dance
Danny Doucette and The Acadians headline a show of seasonal music at the Osprey in Shelburne on Saturday, Dec. 8 starting 8 p.m.
Danny Doucette and The Acadians will perform traditional Christmas songs with a French Acadian flair.
Joining them for this concert of holiday-themed music are a host of local talent. Soloist Shelly MacIntosh and Manitoba Hal have a few Christmas favourites lined up. Alex Buchanan and Natalie Lynn are working on an arrangement of ”Baby It’s Cold Outside” that’s sure to be memorable.
Special guest Peggy O’Malley (aka Bennett el Sahbrah) will heat up the Osprey on a cold Christmas evening with a holiday-themed belly dance.
The concert of seasonal music is just the first half of a night to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. After the intermission, the band Backtrac will take the stage for a Christmas dance. Anthony Gosbee, Kathy Bennett, Jack Smith, Danny Acker and Wayne Purney will rock the house with danceable music and even some swinging Christmas numbers.
Tickets for A Shelburne Christmas are $15 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available at the Whirligig Book Shop (875-1117) in Shelburne and at the door a half hour before the performance.
