Barrington haunted house features all things horrifying

The Purge of Barrington will take over the exhibition grounds for four nights of terror. The main building, horse barn, ox barn, small animal barn and exhibition grounds will be transformed into scenes from all of the Purge movies.

One of the organizers of the haunted house, Tiffany Hunt, says this year’s haunted house will be huge.

“We are trying to outdo ourselves and have doubled in size,” she says.

The team of builders have been creating and building since Sept. 1.

There will also be a team of 60 actors to play various frightening roles.

“There have been a lot of good ideas,” says Hunt.

She does not recommend the haunted house to young children.

Can you escape?

In addition to the Haunted House, there is a new feature meant to be fun, scary and challenging.

The Escape Rooms will run during the day and have already sold out.

Four to six people will be locked in a room and must use their cunning and ability to work together to solve the clues to get out.

“Some clues will be visible some much harder to find,” says organizer Vanessa O’Connell. “I thought this would be a perfect fundraiser."

All groups will get is a flashlight and a walkie-talkie and will be given an hour to complete the mission of getting out of two locked rooms.
