Signs of excavation may be on the way for the Bay Side Home expansion by late March if the Municipality of Barrington has any say in the matter.

At the Feb. 23 council meeting a motion was passed to send a letter of support asking the Department of Health authority to take steps to have the groundwork and excavation started in early spring.

Letters will be sent to several other government officials requesting that there be no delay in tendering for groundwork and excavation work at the site.

Premier MacDonald made the expansion announcement as part of the province's Continuing Care Strategy in February 2007.

Bayside Home has a staff of 40 but with the expansion, more RN’s, LPN’s, CCA’s, housekeeping and laundry staff will be required.
