The Barrington Sea Star Ice Dogs have taken a 2-0 lead in Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League best of seven semi-final action against the Spryfield Silver and Black Attack.

The Ice Dogs opened the series in Barrington on Friday night with a 5-4 overtime win.  Brydon Ryerson notched the winner. Tyler Quinlan fired in two markers for Sea Star, with singles from Logan Quinlan and Robert Surette. Andre LeBlanc, Riley Hemstock, Jeremy McDonald and Perry McDonald were the Spryfield marksmen. Winning goalie Chad Harris posted 44 saves, while Spryfield’s Alex Mader stopped 54.

 In game two Saturday, the Ice Dogs defeated the Attack 4-1. Matt Goodwin, Michael Link, Robert Surette and Tyler Quinlan each posted singles. Jeremy McDonald scored the lone goal for Spryfield.

The series continues in Spryfield this weekend, with game three on tap for Saturday, March 2 at 8 p.m. Game four if necessary is slated for March 4 at 3 p.m.
