In their first action in nearly a month, the Ice Dogs may have been a little rusty early on against the Admirals but seemed to get their legs as the game progressed.
Tyler Symonds led the way with two goals, teammates Dustin Goreham, Brandon Crowell and Travis Smith tallying as well.
Goreham and Smith also had two assists each.
Barrington netminder Darrell Dixon stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced.
The Ice Dogs came out of the game with a record of 10-3-0-0 for 20 points, second best in the junior C league’s west division, six points behind the division-leading Clare Lions and six points ahead of the third-place Valley Keiths.
The Admirals fell to 3-9-0-1, their point total remaining seven.
The league’s central division standings (prior a scheduled Dec. 21 game between the Fundy Phantoms and the North Shore Storm) had the New Waterford Jets in first place with 31 points, the Storm next with 18, followed by the Halifax Thunder (16), Colchester County Crunch (9) and Phantoms (4).
