The Capies captured the Barrington Area Ladies Recreational Lobball League opening tournament championship with an 18-8 win over the Outkasts.

The eight teams in the league competed in two divisions during the four day tournament at the Ralph Creamer Memorial Ball Park in Barrington.

In semi-final action, the Capies downed the Devils 13-5 to advance to the championship game, while the Outkasts defeated the B-52s 16-13.

Tournament MVP and recipient of the Kim Goreham Memorial Award was Trish MacDougall of the Shenaniganz. Teammate and sister Robin MacDougall was presented with the Angie Penney Memorial Award for Most Sportsmanlike Player (MSP) of the tournament. 

Tournament MVP and MSP awards were also given out by each team. The recipients were:

B-52s: MVP, Emily Penney; MSP, Sammi Ross.

Capies: MVP Krysten Newell; MSP, Merla Nickerson.

Devils: MVP and MSP, Kaylee Cunningham.

Outkasts: MVP, Kelly Swim; MSP, Jillian Maxwell.

Panthers: MVP Brandy Stoddard; MSP, Marilee Lyons.

Recruits: MVP, Taneah Symonds; MSP, Amanda Nickerson.

Shenaniganz: MVP, Trish MacDougall; MVP, Robin MacDougall,

Victorious Secrets: MVP, Natasha Goodwin; MSP, Danielle Smith.
