Yarmouth/Shelburne Track and Field Districts were held at Gateway Park in Yarmouth on May 8 and 9.
Competing at districts were student athletes from the following schools: Maple Grove, Yarmouth Junior High, Par-en-Bas, Drumlin, Lockeport, Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School and Barrington and Shelburne junior and senior high schools.
The top finishers in the various events now advance to track and field regionals being held in the Annapolis Valley May 25 and 26. From that event the top finishes will advance to provincials the following week in Cape Breton.
The following is list of the athletes that have qualified for track and field regionals following districts that were held in Yarmouth May 8 and 9.
In the running events the top four advance. In the field events (jumping and throwing events) the top five advance. In the relay events a maximum top three schools advance. (Note: only one team per school can advance.) Also, one alternate is selected for each event in case one of the top finishers cannot attend.
