Female Barons win tourney gold

The Barrington Barons were the gold medal winners at the Peter Connell Female Hockey Tournament on Dec. 28 and 29 in Berwick.

The Barons opened with a 12-0 win over North Kings Education Centre (NKEC). Game MVP Kristen Newell posted four goals for the Barons. Janaya Nickerson and Paige Stoddard each added hat tricks with single markers from Taran Atwood and Kattie Symonds. Katrina Dixon had the shut out.

Game two came down to a shoot out, with the 2-1 win going to Horton.   Jessica Stoddard scored the lone goal for the Barons. Game MVP was Jillian Thurber.

In the banner game the Barons blanked Central Kings 4-0. Katrina Dixon posted her second shut out of the tourney. Leading the offence was

Janaya Nickerson with two goals, with singles from Jessica Stoddard and Taran Atwood.  Game MVP was Shannon-Paige Hatfield.
