Drugs, cash seized after highway stop

Queens District RCMP seized money, drugs and a vehicle during a recent traffic stop.

At approximately 9 p.m. Tuesday April 17, members of Queens District RCMP stopped a vehicle on Highway 103 near Liverpool as part of was part of a joint investigation involving the Shelburne RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU). More than 100 grams of marihuana was found in the car and two men inside were arrested without incident.

 The vehicle was seized along with $2720 in cash.

A 27-year-old man from Halifax and a 27-year-old man from Shelburne have since been released by police. They are facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. They will appear in Liverpool Provincial Court on June 12.
