A Shelburne man is facing firearms charges after RCMP were called to a home on Commission Street in response to a report of a man handling firearms that would be a danger to himself or others in the home.
As a precautionary measure, RCMP blocked off Commission Street during the Wednesday, April 11, stand-off and nearby residents were asked to leave their homes. At approximately 6:30 p.m. the male left the home unarmed and was taken into police custody.
RCMP seized three long guns and one bow and arrow from the residence. The investigation is ongoing and firearms charges are pending.
