Shelburne County volunteer firefighters were among the first in the province to take advantage of the Nova Scotia Firefighters School new Mobile Burn Unit (MBU).

From May 6 to 9 the state of the art MBU was set up in the parking lot at the Barrington Municipal Arena, where firefighters were put through their paces.

With the MBU the Nova Scotia Firefighters School can offer a wide range of training scenarios for firefighters, from roof ventilation to forcible entry, to confined spaces training to various live fire configurations, as well as HAZMAT and search and rescue training.
