Construction of the new 40-bed addition to Bayside Home continues to  “impress and amaze the community,” says the chair of the board of directors.

“I am delighted to drive by the site and see all of the activity from the distance,” said Donna LeBlanc-Messenger.

Several local contractors and individual technicians are on site working for the general contractor, Dora Construction.

Given the state of the local economy, the employment has been a great benefit to those individuals, says LeBlanc-Messenger, and to the business district as well.

Project manager MHPM continues to indicate that the building is going along well and a winter/early spring completion is expected barring unforeseen circumstances.

LeBlanc-Messenger says residents of the existing facility are entertained continuously by the ongoing construction and are very excited when they speak of it.

“Like so many others in this end of Shelburne County, I knew it would come; it was painfully slow getting here; but it has done my heart good to see it happen,” she said.
