Catalone man released on conditions

SYDNEY —  A 50-year-old Catalone man was released from custody Thursday after agreeing to adhere to a number of conditions.

Charles Michael Hogan is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine. The offence is alleged to have occurred June 19 in Catalone.

Hogan is now to live in New Waterford and refrain from alcohol and all drugs not prescribed to him by a physician. He is not allowed to possess a pager or a cellphone or associate with anyone with a criminal record (except family members). He is also to report, by phone, once a week, to Cape Breton Regional Police.

He is now scheduled to return to court Monday to enter a plea to the charge.
