The ladies of Lockeport and the surrounding area are going to be strutting their stuff and hawking their wares in support of the Roseway Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
The “Movers and Shakers” fashion show and bake sale, which coincides with the Harmony Bazaar Festival, will be held on Saturday, July 25 at the Lockeport Regional High School auditorium beginning at 11 a.m.
“It should be a lot of fun,” said organizer Alice Whitehouse.
Forty models have been recruited to showcase a sample of the fashions that can be found at the ladies auxiliary’s New 2 U second hand clothing outlet in Sandy Point adjacent to Roseway Hospital.
And while the bake table is starting to fill up, more goods are needed, said Whitehouse. “I know there’s a heck of a lot of good bakers out there,” she said.
Festival artisans will also be hand at the event, with many handcrafted items available for purchase.
Whitehouse is also hoping to use the event as a recruitment drive for the ladies auxiliary. “They need new blood,” said Whitehouse, noting that many of the volunteers with the organization are at retirement age and beyond.
The fashion show will feature recorded music from Harmony Bazaar performers. No admission is being charged but a free willing offering is being accepted with all proceeds going to the ladies auxiliary.
Anyone wanting more information or with a donation of baked goods for the sale can contact Whitehouse at 656-3130.
