THE COURAGE TO REMEMBER: The Holocaust 1933-1945, is a powerful 40-panel visual narrative on the Holocaust, shown in a series of full-colour posters. The show will be coming to Shelburne for three days and on Tuesday, Jan 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the public is invited to a special viewing at Shelburne Regional High.

The show, created in 1988 as an attempt to look back on the 50th anniversary of the 'Anschluss', won the Simon Wiesenthal Center critical acclaim in its world debut.

The travelling exhibition has been used as an educational display and as part of permanent exhibitions for institutions the world over.

The exhibit on display at the school is provided through the Atlantic Jewish Congress.

With nearly 200 original photographs, many never before seen by the general public, the story unfolds through four major themes: Nazi Germany, 1933-1938; Moving Toward the "Final Solution", 1939-1941; Annihilation in Nazi-occupied Europe, 1941-1945 and Liberation - Building New Lives.

“The Courage to Remember” is intended as both a tribute and a warning; a tribute to the six million Jews and millions of others, including Gypsies, Slavs, political dissenters, homosexuals, and prisoners of war, who were murdered by the Nazis between 1933 and 1945; and a warning that the root causes of the Holocaust persist.
