In recognition of Remembrance Day, the Osprey is presenting “We Will Remember Them” the evening before. This evening of music on Saturday Nov. 10, 7:30 p.m. will pay tribute to our World War veterans and their families with a stirring collection of songs inspired by the joy and the pain of that transformational era.
Derrick Paul Miller, a tenor from the Canadian Opera Company, will lead a stellar group of singers and musicians. Shelburne native soprano Andrea Jeffrey will join Miller on stage, and they will be accompanied by Dianne Roxborough-Brown on piano and Ernie Brown on trombone. Linda Jeffrey will also make a special appearance.
The performers will be outfitted with costumes by The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. The event will also feature a slideshow projected onto the Osprey’s new, large movie screen behind the performers.
During the performance of the song "We Will Remember Them," a group of cadets will give a special presentation.
Tickets for “We Will Remember Them” are $25 general admission and $20 for seniors. Tickets are available at the Whirligig Book Shop (875-1117) in Shelburne and at the door a half hour before the performance.
