The emergency department will also be closed as scheduled Friday, Jan. 9, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To ensure patients are seen by a physician on days the emergency department is closed at 8 a.m., non-urgent patients will not be registered after 7 a.m.
Shelburne County residents requiring emergency services should visit Yarmouth Regional Hospital Emergency Department (60 Vancouver St. in Yarmouth) or Queens General Hospital in Liverpool.
The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of an emergency.
When you go to any emergency department, you should always bring your Nova Scotia Health Card, a list of your medications and a list of allergies. This will help physicians and nurses provide better care to you. There are things that you can do to stay healthy and to help avoid a trip to the emergency department, such as; wear your seat belt and drive safely, wear safety equipment at work and play, wear non-slip footwear and remove loose wires and things you may trip over, don’t smoke, wash your hands often and don’t drink and drive.

Due to physician unavailability, the Roseway Hospital Emergency Department in Shelburne will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 8, from 8am to 8pm.
