Local artist Jennie Lamont was front and centre for the opening of her art show “Moving Water” at the Osprey Arts Centre on Thursday, April 19. Born and educated in Kirkcudbright, a small fishing port in the district of Galloway, southwest Scotland, she taught art in rural Scotland and following immigrating to Canada in 1972 also taught art in Shelburne County.

She now earns her living as a muralist at the Museum of Natural History in Halifax and as scenic painter in the movie industry, reproducing a wide variety of sets from Ted Bundy’s jail cell to a copy of the 15th century Vatican,

Her show is on display in the Coastline Gallery at the Osprey until June 7.
