The Barrington/Clark's Harbour run will start from the Town Hall with registration at noon. Opening ceremonies will be at 12:45 p.m., with the run beginning at 1 p.m.
Participants will be able to choose from four different distances. The first choice is walking on the Clark's Harbour boardwalk, the second choice is walking to the old West Head Church, the third choice is walking to the Newellton Lobster Pound and the fourth distance is walking the full 10 kilometers to the Newellton Creek and back to the Town Hall.
The event offers several distance choices this year as it was losing participants over the 10 km distance.
Lions members will be along the run route with water and juice for the participants. The SeaBreeze Rebekah Lodge is supplying participants with refreshments afterwards.
Jack Fry from Barrington, and Joyce Swim, from Clark's Harbour, who have been Terry's Team members for many years, will again be participating this year. Terry's team members are individuals in our community who have had cancer and have won. Shelburne
The Shelburne Terry Fox Run will begin at 1:30 p.m., starting at the Shelburne Community Centre. The run will be held on the trail and will go from the Community Centre parking lot to the Islands Park and return.
Participants can run, walk, bike, or use any other non-motorized form of transportation on the trail. Registration for the run will begin at 1:15 p.m. on site. Participants can make donations at registration, or can get pledge sheets and collect sponsors. Local banks will accept completed pledge sheets after the Run. All participants at the Shelburne Run will be eligible for a draw for a Terry Fox Run t-shirt.
Pledge sheets are available at both the Town of Shelburne and Municipality of Shelburne offices, at their respective recreation departments.
