For Kathy Collupy, participating in the Yarmouth Relay for Life this year was a way to give back to the community for all the love and support she has received on her journey battling leukemia. “I wanted to do it to show my support,” said Collupy, who lead the 12 member strong team, Kath’s Cancer Cruising Crusaders in the annual Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser last month. “I wanted to do it for all the people in Shelburne who have supported me. Their love and support has been amazing throughout this whole journey with cancer.”

Individually Collupy raised $4,000, earning the title of top fundraiser at the Yarmouth event. Her team raised $8,000.

Collupy was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005 and received a bone marrow transplant in 2007.
