$18,000 in community grants up for approval

A lengthy list of requests from community organizations for grant money, amounting to $18,430, from the Municipality of Barrington has been reviewed by the committee of the whole and the following have been recommended to the July 6 meeting of council for approval. Some districts will be distributing the balance of community funds at a later date.

District 1

Wood’s Harbour Days $1,000, Samuel Wood Historical Society $1,000, Do For Others Club $1,000, Charlesville Green Grove Cemetery $400, Barrington Municipal Exhibition $300, Safe Grad $50. Total for District 1 is $3,750

District 2

Cape Sable Historical Society $1,000, Shag Harbour Incident Society $580, Old Farm Cemetery $1,000, Shag Harbour Clippers Mens’ Lobball (field improvements) $1,000

Barrington Municipal Exhibition $300, Safe Grad $50. Total for District 2 is $3,930.

District 3

Hillside Cemetery $800, 7E Fire Department - Storage Building $500, Riverdale Cemetery $800, Barrington Ball Field Committee $700, Barrington Municipal Exhibition $300, Safe Grad $50. Total for District 3 is $3,150.

District 4

Ross Heritage Society $250, Port Clyde Cemetery $750, Barrington Municipal Exhibition $300, Safe Grad $50. Total for District 4 is $1,350.

District 5

Old Kirk Cemetery $1,000, Stoney Island Community Club $2,000, Ross Heritage Group $250, Barrington Municipal Exhibition $300, Safe Grad $50. Total for District 5 is $3,600.

District 6

Barrington Municipal Exhibition $300, $300. Total for District 6 is $300.

District 7

White Lily Cemetery $1,000, Evergreen Cemetery $1,000, Barrington Municipal Exhibition $300, Safe Grad $50. Total for District 7 is $2,350
