After weeks with only a temporary site operating, a new bottle depot is opening this week in of Shelburne.
Harlow Bottle Depot is located on King Street in the Harlow Construction building located across the road from the Shelburne mall.
The new bottle depot officially opens up for bottle returns this Monday and will be open Monday’s from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday’s from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The site will also accept old televisions and other waste electronic items.
Two staff has been hired to run the RRFB site, Lisa Rodgerson and Ricky Nash.
“It is going to be a one-stop depot including bottle returns, electronics and items like paint cans,” said Jane Ringer from Harlow’s Construction.
“This is going to be a great location,” she said. “It will finally be handy and so close as well as open at convenient times.”
The former RRFB site had been operated, apparently unsuccessfully, at the former Boys School site in Shelburne. That site was closed by the board. A temporary location was set up in the Home Furniture parking lot on Water Street.
